The new Terminal de Cruzeiros do Porto de Leixões has brought a new dynamic of territorial cooperation with two main aims: to improve the commercial efficiency of the port and urban integration. It not only boosted the growth in the number of ships and passengers but also houses significant modern maritime research infrastructures: (a) the Science and Technologies of the Sea Park of the University of Porto and (b) the headquarters of IMRCUP – Interdisciplinary Marine Research Centre of the University of Porto.
The terminal is one of the most absorbing attractions, not only for its architectural design, which has already won reference architecture awards for its design quality, three-dimensionality, durability and resistance. The Architect says that: it is the ultimate expression of the symbiosis between Ceramics and Architecture. In addition, enjoy guided tours of the building, individually or in groups, costing €5 for adults and €3.50 for seniors and students. There is a family ticket, and the entrance is free for children under 12. You can do them on Sundays, at 10:15, 11:15 and 12:15.
