This reliable bus route connects the heart of the city to the coastal town of Matosinhos. Here’s what you need to know:

Route & Stops: The 500 bus runs from Praça da Liberdade (near São Bento Station) to Matosinhos Market. Along the way, it covers 35 stops, making it a convenient choice for both locals and tourists. Some notable stops include São Bento Station, Ponte da Arrábida, and Ouro Fluvial.

Scenic Views: As you ride, enjoy glimpses of the Douro River, historic bridges, and charming neighborhoods. The bus also passes close to the Porto Tram Museum (Museu do Carro Elétrico).

Fares & Timetable: A single journey costs €3.50, or you can opt for a 2-trip ticket at €6. If you plan to explore more, consider the 2-day pass for €10 (available onboard or at the Tram Museum).

Note that neither the Andante card nor the Porto Card are valid on Porto’s buses.

Timings: Buses operate from 9 am to approximately 7:35 pm, with a frequency of about every 20 minutes.
